Oh wait, i was blogging for this site? – HOT WEATHER

Yeah, it’s been a minute since I had time to drop by and contribute. Something about single handedly producing a 40 page magazine, dealing with finals at school, getting hit and run by some piece of shit while riding a bike, blah blah blah yeah yeah enough of my bullshit.

At a lack of graffiti news to gush over or some latest gossip (Although the Shepard Fairey wall getting bombed by Adek was fairly raw yes?) I’ve decided to post my stash box. once home to stuff that’d boil your mind, it’s now home solely to the purp and the green.

I made this thing in my mid twenties. The bottom portion of the box was all done in one night to the tune of a sugar cube. The top portion was and is more a work in progress. There’s the pipe that survived being dropped, the bowl that’s all that’s left of a broken bong, my dope club card, my debit card, a photo of my ex, some stickers I got from some gallery opening, rolling papers, trash, laundry money, a gold ring that got bent onto my finger in an accident that nearly destroyed my index finger, matches, etc etc….

Rest In Peace Guru of Gangstarr

Keith Elam (July 17, 1966 – April 19, 2010), better known by his stage name Guru, was an American rapper and member of the hip-hop duo Gang Starr. He was born in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury. The name Guru is a backronym that stands for Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal and the less often used God is Universal; he is the Ruler Universal, which are both references to the teachings of the Nation of Gods and Earths.

Interview with Lord Ezec of DMS

Ezec

DMS + TKO = you're fucked

Few crews inspire as much fear, gossip, and respect as New York legends DMS. If you have War 4, you’ve seen MQ repping DMS nationwide, and they’ve been a fixture in the hardcore scene for well over two decades. I interviewed one of DMS’ most infamous members, Lord Ezec a while back. You might know him from bands like Skarhead, Crown of Thornz, and Icepick (with Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta), his hip hop records as Danny Diablo, or fucking up one of your friends over some dumb shit they did. I was fortunate enough to interview him a while back:

Back in the day I always wanted to work at the Relatively warehouse in Queens because I heard it was a good way to get your foot in the door if you wanted to become an authentic member of the NYHC scene. What kind of people worked there, and who was the shotcaller??
My brother Scot worked their and he actually got me the job cause he got locked up 18 years ago for murder and will be out in 2 more years!!! Bennet was my real boss and Mike Scorcesse of Vietnom was my fake boss. Everyone had a criminal record at that job. Homicide cops knew MQ and I by our real names cause at least 3 people at that warehouse were arrested for murder when I worked there. The cops would look at us and arrest someone who worked there and then be at our crib later on in the week harassing us for our boy was on the run for murder also. Petey Hines, Anthony Communale, Sick Of It All and many more N.Y.H.C. legends worked there too.
